Q: What is a kimono dress?

A: Kimono are the Japanese traditonal attire. We make custom made dresses in a modern style using kimono fabric. Please go to Formal and Semi Formal to see further details.

 

Q: How do I order a custom made kimono dress?

A: Please go to Formal or Semi Formal to select your favorite design and options. At Kimono, you can choose the kimono for a dress. (You also use your own kimono if you have one already.) Once you decide which design and a kimono you will use for your dress, please let us know by email. We will reply to you as soon as possible with further details.

 

Q: How does the entire order process work?

A: After we receive an email from you, we will email you an order-form asking detailed measurements and shipping address. Please fill in the order-form and reply, meanwhile we can discuss the designs and other things that you would like to know. We will send the order-form to our staff once your payment is completed. You will receive your dress within two months.

 

Q: What is the difference between "Semi Custom Made" and "Fully Custom Made"?

A: "Semi Custom Made" means that the design you want is present in our Formal section. If you would like to have your dress with a special design that is not on our homepage you need to have "Fully Custom Made".

 

Q: Why do you recommend Uchikake and Furisode for a kimono dress? Can other types kimono be used as well?

A: It all depends on train (back style of the dress). If you wish to have a long train then you will need to have either Furisode or Uchikake so that we can use their long sleeves for the train. However, if you only need short train or do not need it at all then you can use any type of kimono you want.

 

Q: I have a kimono with stains and wrinkles. Can I use it for a dress? How about unfolded kimono?

A: When we receive your kimono we always unfold and iron it. We can also remove the parts where there are stains when cutting. You can use an unfolded kimono for a dress.

 

Q: How does the mending for a custom made dress work?

A: For Formal and Semi Formal custom made dresses, we ask very detailed measurements that we need in order to make a suitable dress for each customer. However, if you wish to have your dress to be sent when it is basted, we can do so by EMS (Express Mail Service). Once you have received your dress, please try it on and mark where it is too big (we always make a dress slightly bigger than your original size when basting). We reccomend you to pin up the place you mark so that we will know the exact size. Please then send back your dress. We will send the finished goods within 20 days after we have received your dress. All the shipping fee will be charged for your payment. If you make any mistakes when you order and need a mending, additional fee will be charged. Q: My wedding is in a month. Can I have my dress ready in time?

A: It usually takes about two months to be ready to ship your dress after we receive your payment. However, you can select "Quick Made" from options and your dress will be ready within seven days (at fastest).

 

Q: How do I purchase ready-made articles?

A: We have Kimono Dress as ready-made articles. You can select the one(s) you would like to purchase and let us know by email. We will reply to you as soon as possible with further details.

 

Q: Do you have a shop where I can see ready-made dresses and kimonos?

A: We only have an online shop in order to introduce ready-made kimono dresses and custom made orders at very low rate. Please contact us for any questions as many times as you want and we will be more than happy to answer.

 

Q: Which shipping methods are available?

A: We highly recommend Express Mail Service (EMS) for it includes tracking and allows compensation. You can also select the Standard Mail Service. Please note that we are not responsible for any accidents occurring during shipping.

A: All of our articles are hand-made and one and only in the world. We are afraid we do not accept returned goods except rejected articles.
