Remake kimono AnnaNiponica was established in Japan, beginning in 2002 by three generations: my grand mother, my mother and myself ( the head representative ).

This is my grandmother, Chizuko. She was an 11-year-old little girl when she started going to a dressmaking school. She has worked in one of the most famous kimono companies in Japan for more than 20 years, and over that time she has collected various kinds of kimonos. In the spring of 2002 when I visited my grandmother and she showed me her gorgous kimono collection. Although I was overwhelmed by the dresses' outstanding beauty, I did not know how and where to wear those kimonos. That was the day my grandmother and I have started making dresses using her kimonos, and marked the opening of AnnaNiponica. My grandmother keeps every single customers' pattern for a dress. She checks again and again to make sure the dress is exactly what the customer wants, and she says that she does not want to end the order without completely satisfying the customer. She is.a professional who is very proud of her job.

I spent most of my adolescence in Portugal and I have travelled to many countries. As I moved from place to place, I met many diverse people with a deep curiosity and interest in the fashion of Japanese kimono. However, it is often difficult for many to find just exactly what they are looking for. Our desire is to provide all styles and types of kimono with the ease and accesibility one will find in other areas of attire.

As the head representative, I promise you a responsible deal from the beginning to the very end. As a designer, I guarantee you the best quality kimono dress that you have never seen. I do not design kimono dresses for mass production. Tall, short, slim or voluptuous... every single customer has a different body shape and it is never the same. Custom made dresses are there for you to highlight your shortcomings in a way you can be proud of.
